Text Banking - access your accounts via text messages on your mobile phone. It's a fast, easy way to look up account balances or recent account history. You can also transfer funds between your accounts at Security.

Mobile Browser Access - access your account via a mobile web browser designed for mobile phones. (WAP 2.0 or higher and cookies-enabled support required.)

Downloadable Applications - a device-specific application that resides on your mobile phone. It generally provides the richest user experience. Applications available for Blackberry and iPhone.

What access modes are available?

SCU Mobile offers Text Banking, Mobile Browser Access and Downloadable Applications.

Can I use more than one access mode on my phone?

Yes, you can use any combination of modes from the same phone. You will need to activate each option separately on your phone prior to use.

What functions can I perform with Mobile Banking?

All modes allow you to view account balances and recent activity, and to transfer funds.

Is it secure?

Yes, all modes of access are secure. The Mobile Browser and Downloadable Application utilize best practices from online banking such as HTTPS, 128-bit SSL encryption, password access and application time-out when your phone is not in use. Only the phones that you personally enroll in the service can access your accounts. No confidential information is ever stored on your phone. If your phone is lost or stolen, the service can be immediately disabled either by going online to the Mobile Banking enrollment website or calling us. In addition, with Text Banking no confidential information is transmitted in text messages. Users should delete text messages after obtaining information.

Do I need a text messaging or data plan for Mobile Banking?

Yes, a text messaging or data plan is needed, as "pay-as-you-go" usage can become expensive without one. Check with your wireless carrier for more information.

How do I enroll?

You enroll using a desktop or laptop computer, not a mobile device. Activation is a one-time process that helps ensure your security. The Social Security Number of the Primary Member on the account must be used to enroll.  After you enroll a mobile phone, you will receive an activation code which will be required to begin using the service. We recommend you print your activation code and instructions for easy reference during installation.

Warning

Never send credit card, banking, or other sensitive information via simple text messaging.  SMS (Short Message Service) text messages are rarely encrypted and are thus open to theft as they fly through the air.
 
Never respond to any email offer to download and use a new banking phone application. Only use applications provided from Security Credit Union through the enrollment process.
